How to protect your battery

The protection circuit of lithium-ion batteries is known to cause problems after long storage. Leaving the battery in a discharged state, the self-discharge the battery to empty slowly, and finally the cell voltage drops to 2.5V. At this cell voltage, the charger can not detect the battery and the battery seems to be dead. Advanced battery analyzers (Cadex) contain a boost / wake-up program, Dell Inspiron 6400 battery which the protection circuit becomes active, which in turn allows to recharge the battery normally. If the cell voltage dropped below 1.5V/Zelle, and is the battery during a few days remained in this state, it should not be a charge for safety reasons.

In order to prevent self-discharge of newly manufactured batteries containing advanced lithium-ion batteries a 'sleep mode', which takes the safety circuit out of service until it is activated by a short recharging again. Once in use, the DELL XPS M1530 battery will remain functional and the benefit of Sleep is no longer needed.
Lead acid batteries should be prepared by performing a full charge followed by a discharge and a recent full charge. The control of capacity during the discharge is important, especially if the battery is used in a critical application such as in the medical environment. The 'Preparing / Priming' is recommended for a storage battery of 6 months or longer. Battery analyzers perform this 'Setup' automatically.

It is believed that a partial or full discharge once every 6 months improves the performance of a lead acid battery. Too frequent discharges should be avoided, as this is the Dell Inspiron 1520 battery unnecessarily burdened (to wear or effect).

A loss of capacity during the life of a battery can not be avoided, but simple measures help to reduce this effect:

· Keep batteries in a cool, dry storage space. A refrigerator is recommended, a freezer should not be used. In the refrigerator, the DELL Studio 1537 battery should be protected with a plastic container or bag to prevent condensation.
· Charge lithium-ion batteries are not fully on prior to storage. Invite them only partially, and run only full loads through before use.
· Store the lithium-ion batteries in fully discharged state. If the battery is dead, charge it, for 30 minutes before storage. Dell Inspiron 6000 battery self-discharge of a discharged battery may lead to the opening of the safety circuit, which then makes it impossible to charge the battery.
· Do not store lithium-ion batteries, buy batteries, not outdated, even if they are offered at reduced prices. Note, if any, the date of manufacture.
· Never leave nickel-based batteries for several days in their charger. A longer suspension (or maintenance) charge promotes crystal formation (memory effect).
· Store lead acid DELL Studio 1555 battery always fully charged state. Observe the open terminal voltage and recharge the battery every 6 months, or according to the manufacturer.
