Acer notebook battery recall subsidiary of PB exposure fire hazards

December 11 News, a subsidiary of Acer, Packard Bell has announced that, because of fire hazards, is recalling four models of the EasyNote laptop battery.

This affected four notebook models were EasyNoteMX36, MX37, MX51 latituded630and MX52, in July 2007 to 12 month of production in Europe. PackardBell said in a statement: "These laptops are equipped with a battery may short circuit, causing laptop overheating or fire."

PackardBell also pointed out that defective battery will not cause electric shock to users, but is also not yet received any reports of incidents. Users can access PackardBell website or call customer service phone 08714670008 to confirm their notebook is affected.

For affected users, PackardBell recommends that users stop using the battery in question. In 2008, Acer to 48.5 million U.S. dollars to buy a PackardBell parent company holding 75% stake in PB.
